Archery was part ofthe Olympic program in Paris in 1900 , in St. Louis in 1904 , in London in 1908 and in Antwerp in 1920 , but then took a break and has been part of the Gamessince 1972 .

In 1904 it was the only sport that women were allowed to participate in. The archery competitions changed until 1920 - there were e.g. B. Competitions with moving targets or mast shooting in which roosters, chickens and chicks or metal birds were shot.
