Mount Stanley is a 3220 m high mountain in the Ross Dependency of Antarctica . In the Queen Alexandra chain of the Transantarctic Mountains, it rises northeast of the area where the Wyckoff Glacier was formed, near the western end of the Grindley Plateau .
The southern group of the Nimrod Expedition (1907-1909), led by the British polar explorer Ernest Shackleton, discovered him. It is named after the nickname of John Stead Stanley Marshall (1877-1956), a brother of the chief expedition doctor Eric Marshall .
