Mount Tasman (also Rarakiroa ) is the second highest mountain in New Zealand with 3498 m . It is located in the New Zealand Alps on the South Island in the Aoraki / Mount Cook National Park . In its immediate vicinity (four kilometers south) is New Zealand's highest mountain, the 3724 m high Aoraki / Mount Cook .
