Mount Tod is a prominent mountain in the East Antarctic Enderbyland . It rises at the head of the Amundsen Bay or on the southwest side of the Auster Glacier .
Aerial photographs of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions from 1956 were used for mapping purposes. The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia (ANCA) named him after Ian Maxwell's death (* 1927), who worked as a weather observer at Mawson Station in 1961 .
