Mount Woodward is a 773 m high mountain on the north coast of South Georgia, according to the UK Antarctic Place Names Committee . It rises 25 km east of the entrance to Antarctic Bay .
Scientists from the South Georgia Survey mapped it from the survey campaign of South Georgia between 1951 and 1957. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1958 after Roswall Woodward of New Haven , Connecticut , who was the captain of the first US sealer in the waters around South Georgia in 1790.
