Mount Woollaard is an isolated, 2675 m high mountain in the West Antarctic Ellsworthland . It is located 240 km west of the Heritage Range , the southern part of the Ellsworth Mountains . The closest peak is Mount Moore, 8 miles to the north .
He was discovered by the so-called Marie Byrd Land Traverse Party , a team mainly to explore Marie Byrd Land between 1957 and 1958 under the direction of Charles Bentley . This named the mountain after George Prior Woollard (1908–1979), member of the technical committee for seismology and gravitational research of the national committee of the United States for the International Geophysical Year and trainer for numerous geophysicists researching in the Antarctic .
