Vienna Mozart Ensemble

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Vienna Mozart Ensemble is a chamber music ensemble that was founded by Josef Krips after the Second World War and has since performed many performances and recorded records.

history

In 1945 the Vienna State Opera was destroyed. The Mozart singers got together again in the same year and in the next ten years until the reopening they shaped a chamber music style that became legendary. Josef Krips was of Jewish origin and therefore the only one who was available as musical director after the war.

Since then, the ensemble has performed worldwide with its special style and made many recordings.
