Mozart the Pickpockets is a French short film comedy directed by Philippe Pollet-Villard from 2006.
action
Philippe and Richard work with a group of Spanish pickpockets and steal from passers-by. One of the Spaniards is always caught stealing, Philippe and Richard appear as alleged police officers and "arrest" the thief, while the other two Spaniards use the mess to steal the wallets of all other passers-by. Philipp and Richard, who have a room in a small hotel and live in the simplest of circumstances, are always disadvantaged in the coups and usually receive the passports of the stolen, which are difficult to monetize. Since they can't do anything else, they stay with the troops. The Spaniards are caught by real police officers in a coup. Philippe and Richard, who are always waiting for their signal to the side, pretend to be tourists, and Richard has also taken a little boy by the hand who was begging nearby. When the cops have left, Philippe and Richard go back to their hotel and the boy follows them. He doesn't speak and they both suspect he's deaf too. He doesn't let himself be turned away and in the end Richard feels sorry and takes him to the hotel.
Both men learn that the entire Spanish gang has been arrested and that all forgery tools for the passports have been confiscated. You do not know what to do next. Philippe develops a plan for ambushing tourists, but the implementation fails when Richard passes the tourist's wallet on to the boy, who innocently hands it to the tourist. Philippe is beaten up by the tourist and ends up with a broken nose. Later, frustrated, he refuses to go to the cinema with Richard and the boy. In the cinema, on the other hand, the boy uses the darkness to crawl under the cinema chairs and secretly to ease the pockets of the cinema-goers for their purses. Philippe and Richard are fascinated and enthusiastic and call the boy the Mozart of pickpockets. Soon they are active in all cinemas in the city and have great success with their thief tours.
One day the three of them go bowling . The boy can't throw the ball properly and Philippe shows him how. Despite perfect posture, he does not manage to knock down a single cone. Richard and the boy are amused, but Philippe gets angry. He says that he can't concentrate because a few lanes away "a group of assholes" is making such a noise. A man from the group comes to Philippe and asks for an apology, and Richard asks Philippe to apologize. However, he refuses. When the whole group comes to him, he shows them his fake police badge and says he is in charge here. The group, in turn, pulls out their real police badges - Philippe, Richard and the boy are arrested. The two men are handcuffed while the boy is allowed to sit opposite the two of them next to a police officer. Unnoticed, he shows the two men that he has stolen something again: the key to the handcuffs. Both men can hardly help but laugh.
