The Mount Scenery on the Caribbean island of Saba is the highest elevation of the Kingdom of the Netherlands . The stratovolcano reaches a height of 877 meters and towers over the Vaalserberg , the highest point of the Netherlands on the European mainland, by almost 555 meters. Since the dissolution of the Netherlands Antilles on October 10, 2010 and the incorporation of Saba as a “ special municipality ” in the Netherlands, Mount Scenery is also considered the highest mountain in the Netherlands.
The last eruption in 1640 caused severe explosions and pyroclastic currents ; Even today the Mount Scenery is classified as a danger.
