The Mtirala National Park is a nature reserve in the Georgian region of Adjara . The park stretches around Mtirala and also includes the Chakvistavi settlement , which is mainly home to traditional Ajarian houses. The name Mtirala (German: Heulsuse) derives from the annual rainfall of 4520 mm, which made the area one of the rainiest in the former Soviet Union .
