Muchtar Aschrafowitsch Aschrafi
Muchtar Aschrafowitsch Aschrafi ( Uzbek Ashrafiy Muxtor Ashrafovich , Russian Мухтар Ашрафович Ашрафи ; May 29, Jul. / 11. June 1912 . Greg in Bukhara ; † 15. December 1975 in Tashkent ) was an Uzbek - Soviet composer, People's Artist of the USSR (1951 ) and winner of two Stalin prizes (1943, 1952).
Life
From 1934 to 1936 he studied at the Moscow Conservatory. In 1948 he graduated from the faculty of the Leningrad Conservatory. From 1944 he was a lecturer, from 1953 professor at the Tashkent Conservatory. As the artistic director and chief conductor of the Uzbek Opera and Ballet Theater in Tashkent, he wrote the first Uzbek opera “Buran” . In addition to other orchestral works , he also wrote ballet and film music . The Ashrafi Museum is now located in Ashrafi's former home in Tashkent.
