Muhabbet (born August 3, 1984 in Cologne ; real name Murat Ersen ) is a German - Turkish singer. His music combines arabesque elements of oriental pop music and current R'n'B . From this a musical genre of its own developed, the R'n'Besk. His lyrics are in German and Turkish.

Life

As a child, Muhabbet was musically encouraged by his parents. He and his brother began recording songs at home when he was about eleven years old. The brothers called themselves the Kanaken collaboration .

Together with his producers Ünal Yüksel and Volga Tamöz, Muhabbet began working on his music career in summer 2005. His breakthrough came on November 18, 2005 with the single She is in my arms . Even before the release of a phonogram, the song became particularly popular with emigrants of Turkish origin in Germany and other German-speaking countries. After the commercial release of the first single in November 2005, it entered the German charts. His debut album , R'nBesk , was released at the end of April, after the single I don't want to go had been released.

In 2006, Muhabbet was featured on Trendsetter , the second album by rapper Fler , with a guest part. The song was released as a second single under the title Çüş Junge and produced by Paul NZA . With Paul NZA he worked again in 2007 on the single Schau .

On July 6, 2007, Muhabbet performed in front of 3800 guests at the summer party of Federal President Horst Köhler . At the end of August 2007, the single Verbotene Liebe, recorded together with rapper Alpa Gun , was released . In the same year, three songs in which Muhabbet was attributed a participation came under criticism because of their content. Muhabbet stated that he was not involved.

On November 12, 2007, Muhabbet recorded the song Deutschland , which is intended to promote a cosmopolitan and tolerant Germany, together with Federal Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier , French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner and other young artists . In connection with the performance (Deutschland-Lied), the accusation of journalist Esther Schapira that Muhabbet had justified the murder of Theo van Gogh against her and that Ayaan Hirsi Ali deserved death also made headlines. The singer has denied the allegations and distanced himself from the alleged statements.

The album was self- published in June 2009 . On January 1st, 2011 his album Melekler Sahit appeared on his homepage.

Muhabbet is actively involved in the German bone marrow donor database .
