Muhammad al-Chalidi (Arabic: محمد بن مال الله بن عبدالله الخالدي, DMG : Muhammad ibn MAL ibn 'Abd Allah al-Halidi , * 23. November 1957 in al-Muharraq , Bahrain ) is an Islamic scholar Wahhabi direction.

Life

Al-Chalidi was born and raised in the Bahraini city of Al-Muharraq. After leaving school, he studied at al-Azhar University , but none of his Arabic biographies mention the subject in which he specialized. It is known that he then worked at the Ministry of Justice in Bahrain, before moving to the Ministry of Finance and then becoming a preacher at the al-Ḫayr mosque in the Bahraini city of Ḥamad. At the time he was just 20 years old. His strongly anti-Shiite positions became his undoing and he was imprisoned in Bahrain for ten years. Influential scholars tried to help him, and he was released after five years in prison.

Ideological viewpoints

Al-Khalidi is a strongly anti-Shiite scholar who was influenced in his writings by the Pakistani scholar Iḥsān Ilāhī Ẓahīr of the Ahl-i Ḥadīṯ . Ẓahīr was killed in 1987 because of his radical views and buried in Saudi Arabia . Since al-Khalidi now followed in his footsteps, he is described as a "courageous defender of the Prophet's Sunnah ". Another scholar with whom al-Khalidi was on good terms was Abdallah ibn Jibrin , who was also known for his anti-Shiite polemics.

In a speech uploaded to YouTube , al-Khalidi speaks against the Twelve Shiites . The basis is the Tahrif debate. Al-Khalidi accuses the Shiites of being infidels because they assume that the Koran has been falsified to the detriment of ʿAlī .

Al-Chalidi published the text " Risāla fī r-radd ʿalā ar-Rāfiḍa " by Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd al-Wahhāb on the website of King Faisal University , in which the latter summarized his polemics against the Twelve Shiites .
