Multiplicity (artist group)
Multiplicity was founded in Milan in 2000 . The founding members are Stefano Boeri , Maddalena Bregani, Francisca Insulza, Francesco Jodice, Giovanni La Varra and John Palmesino.
Multiplicity is a constantly changing multidisciplinary network made up of architects, geographers , artists , city planners , photographers , sociologists , economists , filmmakers , etc. Multiplicity invents and implements intervention strategies , workshops , installations and books about change processes in urban landscapes.
“The group produced the ID: A Journey through a Solid Sea installation shown at Documenta11 . Research results and methodologies are shown, which visually illustrate the sea routes in the Mediterranean with the help of a 3D model. Different trajectories of identity, of tourists, immigrants, fishermen and seafarers visually map a constantly changing area as a result of 'a temporal compression of local structures' (Boeri). ”The project An USE-Uncertain States of Europe (2000) has the political and socio-economic insecurity on European territory on the subject.
