The mummy pond ( English mummy Pond ) is a small lake in East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Taylor Valley, it lies between the Suess and Lacroix glaciers .

The mummy pond was discovered and named in December 1957 by the US geologist Troy L. Péwé (1918–1999). It is named after the numerous frozen seal carcasses that Péwé found around the lake.
