The Suessgletscher is a small glacier in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . It branches off at about 1800 m from the Newall Glacier, which runs north, in a southerly direction and flows parallel to the Canada and Lacroix Glaciers into the Taylor Valley , where it borders Lake Chad to the west. The Hoaresee can be found even further to the east . The 1882 m high Matterhorn and the Mummy Pond are located between the Suess and Lacroix glaciers .
Participants of the Terra Nova Expedition (1910-1913) led by the British polar explorer Robert Falcon Scott mapped it. They named it after the Austrian geologist Eduard Suess (1831-1914), to whom the discovery of Gondwana can be traced back.
