Mummy: The Resurrection (German title Mumien: Die Wiedergeburt ) is a pen & paper role-playing game in two volumes, which is set in the fictional game world Welt der Dunkelheit (World of Darkness). The series was published by the US publisher White Wolf . Of pen and sword , however, only the land register was published in German.
The game comes from the "Classic World of Darkness" and takes up thematically global events in the game world to explain the new game mechanics and changes in the game.
origin
Mummies have been part of the game world since the first edition. In the books A World of Darkness: Mummy (1995; ISBN 1-56504-026-0 ) and Mummy (2nd Edition) (1996; ISBN 1-56504-206-9 ) these beings were originally described as characters in the game world To act for both players and game masters. These books also strongly interwoven the Egyptian mummies with the backgrounds of the role-playing games Vampires: The Masquerade and Werewolf: The Apocalypse, which are also located in the game world .
The mummies described in these books had bodies that were resuscitated after death and, if necessary, reformed themselves. However, this process takes a relatively long time in the game world, during which the soul or the spirit of the mummy in a part of the realm of the dead corresponds to the description of the realm of the dead from the role-playing game Wraith: The Oblivion , which is also located in the game world . In the years 1999 to 2000, however, various events occur in the game world that are taken up in Mummy: The Resurection , including in particular the devastation of the dead and the destruction of countless souls that came with the end of the game series Wraith: The Oblivion .
Mummies: The Rebirth
Players of this game take on the role of one of the "new" mummies, which appear starting with the year 2000 and which arise from a soul fusion of the millennia-old mummies of the previous editions with the soul of a person who has just passed away.
