Jason Pierre-Paul (* 1. January 1989 in Deerfield Beach , Florida ), nicknamed JPP is a US American football poker players on the position of the defensive ends . He plays for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the National Football League (NFL).

Early years

Pierre-Paul was born to Haitian emigrants. After his initial phase as a basketball player at Deerfield Beach High School, he moved to the football team after a serious knee injury.

college

As a freshman at the College of the Canyons in California , he managed 49 tackles , 14 sacks , 19 tackles for a loss , two forced fumbles , one interception and one captured fumble. In 2008, Pierre-Paul played for Fort Scott Community College in Kansas , completing 70 tackles, 10.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, and two captured fumbles.

He moved to the University of South Florida in Tampa . In 2009 he had played 13 games for the South Florida Bulls and made 45 tackles (16½ for losses), 6½ sacks, one interception and two forced fumbles as well as parried three passes. He was elected to the All-American team by Pro Football Weekly for his achievements , as well as to the All Big East team . In the fourth week of the season, he was named Defensive Lineman Performer of the Week . After his junior year, he decided to compete in the 2010 NFL Draft and not continue playing college football the senior year .

National Football League

New York Giants

Pierre-Paul was selected by the New York Giants as the 15th player in the 2010 NFL Draft. On July 31, 2010, Pierre-Paul and the Giants agreed to a five-year contract for 20.05 million US dollars with guaranteed 11.629 million US dollars.

2010 season

He made his NFL debut on September 12, 2010 against the Carolina Panthers at New Meadowlands Stadium , and he recorded two tackles. He finished the season with 16 missions and managed 24 solo tackles and 4.5 sacks.

2011 season

Due to injuries at Defensive Ends Osi Umenyiora and Justin Tuck , Pierre-Paul made it to play twelve times from the start. On December 11, 2011, after having managed two sacks and a forced fumble, Pierre-Paul blocked Dan Bailey's 47-yard field goal attempt in the final seconds of the Giants' game against the Dallas Cowboys , which was subsequently played by the Giants 37:34 was won. This made JPP the first player in NFL history to have a sack, a forced fumble, and a blocked field goal attempt in one game. On December 13, 2011, he was named NFC Defensive Player of the Week . Since 2012

Pierre-Paul also worked successfully for the Giants in the following seasons. So he was able to book his first interception in 2012 , which also led to a touchdown . He did the same in 2013. He ended the 2014 season with a total of 12.5 sacks.

On Independence Day 2015 there was an accident with a firework , as a result of which Pierre-Paul had to amputate the index finger of his right hand. After his recovery, he was able to play again in eight games in the 2015 season.

In 2016 and 2017, Pierre-Paul played as the starting-defensive end and consistently showed good performances.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

In March 2018, the Giants gave it to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as part of a trade .
