Hakeem Nicks Amir (* 14. January 1988 in Charlotte , North Carolina ) is a former American American football poker players on the position of wide receiver . With the New York Giants he won the Super Bowl XLVI .
college
Nicks attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and played for their team, the Tar Heels, extremely successful college football between 2006 and 2008 , where he ran a total of 2,840 yards and scored 22 touchdowns . In just three seasons he was able to set 14 different school records.
NFL
New York Giants
Nicks was selected in the first round of the 2009 NFL Draft as a 29th player overall by the New York Giants . In his rookie season he was featured in 14 games, six times as a starter .
In 2010 and 2011 he was able to run more than 1000 yards each. In the 2011 play-offs he proved to be particularly valuable and played a major role in ensuring that the Giants could reach the Super Bowl XLVI and ultimately even win it. Both in the wildcard game against the Atlanta Falcons and in the divisional play-off game against the Green Bay Packers , he got two touchdowns each. In the final itself he was the most successful receiver of his team with 109 yards run.
Indianapolis Colts
After two rather disappointing seasons, he moved to the Indianapolis Colts in 2014 , but could not prevail despite four touchdowns.
Tennessee Titans
In April 2015, he signed a one-year contract with the Tennessee Titans , but was released before the start of the regular season .
Return to the New York Giants
In November 2015, Hicks was again signed by the Giants to replace Victor Cruz , who was injured for the remainder of the season. Hicks played in six games, but he didn't manage to touchdown.
New Orleans Saints
On July 27, 2016, he signed a one-year contract with the New Orleans Saints . He was supposed to support the young receiver corps of the Saints after Marques Colston's dismissal , but was released again in early August 2016.
