His second season was already over after two games, as he was put on the injured reserve list for the rest of the season due to severe problems with his left knee and even an early injury-related career end was in the room. But he returned after an operation the following year and completed the 2010 and 2011 seasons as a starter , where he even won the Super Bowl with the Giants in 2011. In 2012 he played seven more games for the Giants before he was again incapacitated by knee problems.

New Orleans Saints

After the disappointing 2014 season, in which the play-offs could not be reached, not least due to the poor performance of the secondary , the New Orleans Saints Phillips signed on December 31, 2014. He went through all the preparation, but was dismissed shortly before the start of the season. After Rafael Bush suffered a serious injury in the first game and was out for the rest of the season, Philips was reinstated.
