Brandon Christopher Jacobs (* 6. July 1982 in Houma , Louisiana ), nicknamed " Big Meat ", is a former American American football poker players in the position of running backs . He played for the New York Giants and San Francisco 49ers in the National Football League (NFL). With the Giants he won the Super Bowl twice ( Super Bowl XLII and XLVI ).
Career
High school
Even at Assumption High School in Napoleonville, Louisiana, Brandon Jacobs was an above average player, both physically and playfully. He scored eight touchdowns on a kickoff return throughout his high school years . In his senior year, he reached 3,000 yards and 38 touchdowns on his runs .
college
Brandon Jacobs started his college career in Coffeyville at Kansas Community College . In his first season, he reached 1,349 yards and 17 touchdowns. He then moved to Auburn University . There he became one of the best running backs in college football . During his time with the Auburn Tigers , he reached 446 yards and three touchdowns in 72 attempts in the running game . After the end of the 2003 college season, he moved to Southern Illinois . In his year in Southern Illinois, he ran 992 yards in 150 tries and scored 19 touchdowns.
NFL
He came in the fourth round of the 2005 NFL Draft as the 110th player to the New York Giants . In addition to Jacobs, the Giants drafted three other players this year: Corey Webster , Justin Tuck and Eric Moore .
New York Giants
In his first season, he scored 99 yards and seven touchdowns in 38 attempts. With the resignation of Tiki Barber in the 2007 season , he took over the position of "starting running back". Many did not believe that he could replace Tiki Barber, but the Giants still bet on him. Videos of him became YouTube hits because the athletic running back often ran away over the defenders. On February 3, 2008, the Giants met in Super Bowl XLII on the New England Patriots at the University of Phoenix Stadium . Brandon Jacobs ran 42 yards in 14 attempts. The Giants, considered the "underdog", won the game 17:14.
After the 2011 season , Jacobs won his second Super Bowl with the Giants ( Super Bowl XLVI ).
San Francisco 49ers
On March 28, 2012, he signed with the San Francisco 49ers. He missed the first two months of the season due to a knee injury during training camp. After his return he was only used as a 3rd or 4th tailback in 2 games for a limited time. On December 11, 2012, Brandon Jacobs was suspended from the San Francisco 49ers for the remainder of the season after repeatedly posting on social media his dissatisfaction with the 49ers' lack of time. Among other things, he posted photos of himself in his old giant jersey and his Super Bowl rings on Instagram and wrote: "I am on this team rotting away so why would I wanna put any pics up of anything that say niners". The team did not give an official reason for the suspension.
Return to the Giants
On September 10, 2013, Brandon Jacobs signed a one-year contract with the New York Giants. This season he played 7 games. He announced his retirement after nine seasons on January 3, 2014.

Brandon Jacobs married his wife Kim in 2005. In 2007 their child Brayden Jacobs was born. When his wife was pregnant, he scored a touchdown by taking the football under his jersey. The NFL fined him $ 5,000 for this .
