Munduk is a village in the Banjar sub- district of Buleleng County in the north of the Indonesian island of Bali . The village is popular with tourists mainly because of its hiking and walking opportunities.

geography

The village, located at an altitude of around 700 meters, is located on a mountain ridge not far from the twin lakes Danau Tamblingan and Danau Buyan . Munduk is surrounded by jungle, rice terraces, and coffee and clove plantations. Numerous waterfalls in the south of the village shape the jungle landscape.

history

Archaeological finds suggest that the region around Munduk was settled between the 10th and 14th centuries. The Dutch colonial rulers of Bali came around the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. Century there. Old colonial buildings can still be found in the small village today.
