Muneyoshi Nishiyo

Muneyoshi Nishiyo ( Japanese 西 代 宗良 , Nishiyo Muneyoshi ; * around 1930) is a Japanese musician (trumpet, cornet) of swing and mainstream jazz .

Muneyoshi Nishiyo, who was active in the Japanese jazz scene from the 1950s, played in the All-Stars formation of the Japanese Swing Journal ( Swing Group ) in 1958. In the early 1960s, he took the jazz standards " Rose Room " and " Riverboat Shuffle" "Under his own name ( Muneyoshi Nishiyo and Blacksmith and His Boys ), with Tsunetami Fukuda (trombone), Kikuo Fukuya (clarinet), Kazuya Okada (piano), Shigeshi Omori (guitar), Tadao Kanno (bass) and Yoichi Kimura (drums ). Around 1970 he took part in the swing sessions in the jazz club Junk , which also included musicians such as Eiji Kitamura , Satoru Oda , Ichiro Masuda , Kazuo Yashiro , Yukio Ikezawa and Hiroshi Sunaga ( Live at the Junk , Trio Records). In 1975 he still played with the trio of Kazuo Yashiro ( My Ideal ); he also accompanied the singer Kiyoko Maruyama in an all-star band .
