The municipality Tlacoachistlahuaca is a municipality in the east of the Mexican state Guerrero in the Costa Chica region . The administrative seat of the municipality is located in the town of the same name, Tlacoachistlahuaca , which is also the largest in the municipality. The municipality had 21,306 inhabitants at the 2010 census, its area amounts to 805 km².

The municipality of Tlacoachistlahuaca is located in the east of the Mexican state of Guerrero at heights between 100 m and 2300 m . It belongs entirely to the physiographic province of the Sierra Madre del Sur and almost entirely in the catchment area of the Río Ometepec . 60% of the geology of the municipality is determined by intrusive rock ( granite - granodiorite ) with about 20% gneiss ; The predominant soil types are Leptosol (48%), Regosol (32%) and Cambisol (17%).
