Murat Yeginer

Murat Yeginer (* 1959 in Turkey ) is a German theater actor and theater director .

Life

Yeginer's family came to Germany from Turkey around 1960. Yeginer himself grew up in Germany. After training to be an actor in Hamburg, he got his first engagement at the Kammerspiele there . He was then engaged at the Saarbrücken State Theater , the Kiel Theater and the Bonn Theater, before joining the ensemble of the Oldenburg State Theater from 1987 , where he has also directed more frequently in recent years. Yeginer was seen in smaller roles on television as early as the 1970s. In the 2008/2009 season, he moved to the Pforzheim City Theater as acting director . Murat Yeginer has been a permanent member of the ensemble at the Mainz State Theater since the 2014/15 season .

There he played the theater director in the successful "Ratten" production by Jan-Christoph Gockel (2015) and the title role in "Nathan the Wise", directed by KD Schmidt (2016).

As a director, Yeginer has made guest appearances at the Stadttheater Ulm , the Winterhuder Fährhaus in Hamburg and the Ohnsorg-Theater , where he will hold the post of senior director from the beginning of the 2018/19 season.

Yeginer and his wife have three children.

In 2009 John von Düffel also wrote a homage to Yeginer with the play Ich, Heinz Erhardt . The life paths of Erhardt and Yeginer showed "exciting parallels" - as sons of migrants (Erhardt came from Latvia) both were forced to fight for their place in Germany and achieved this with humor. Yeginer himself played the title role in the world premiere of the play Ich, Heinz Erhardt, which he proposed for the comedian's 100th birthday .

Awards

  • Theater Prize Hamburg - Rolf Mares 2017 for "outstanding directing performance" for "Behind the Wall is happiness" at the Theater Kontraste in Hamburg.
  • Pegasus Prize 2016 for the Theater Kontraste, Hamburg, a. a. for the theater production "We are not barbarians", directed by Murat Yeginer.
  • Merit medal "Safe Pforzheim, Safe Enzkreis" for the Stage Enter project and outstanding and innovative prevention work (September 2012)
  • Audience award "Production of the Year" for the direction of "Iphigenie auf Tauris" at the Meiningen State Theater
