Muriel Winifred Turner, Baroness Turner of Camden ( September 18, 1927 - February 26, 2018 ) was a British Labor Party politician who was a member of the House of Lords from 1985 .

Life

Muriel Turner, a member of the Labor Party, was a member of the Occupational Pensions Board between 1977 and 1993 and was also a member of the Equal Opportunities Commission from 1982 to 1988 .

In 1985 she was raised to the nobility as a Life Peeress with the title Baroness Turner of Camden , of Camden in Greater London . June 18, 1985 their introduction (carried Introduction ) as a member of the House of Lords . Between 1987 and 1996, during her membership in the House of Lords, she was spokesperson for the opposition Labor Group on Social Security and Employment.

She was also a member of the Pension Advisory Service between 1989 and 2007 and chairwoman of the PIA Council for Ombudsmen from 1994 to 1997 .

Baroness Turner was also Deputy Chair of Committees from 1997 to 2008 and also deputy speaker of the House of Lords from 2002 to 2008 .

She was also the Vice President of the British Humanist Association (BHA) and was an honorary member of the National Secular Society (NSS).
