The Murphy Bay is an 11 km wide and icy bay on the East Antarctic Georg V. Coast . It is located between Penguin Point and Cape Bage .
It was discovered during the Australasian Antarctic Expedition (1911-1914) under the direction of the Australian polar explorer Douglas Mawson . Mawson named the bay after Herbert Dyce Murphy (1879–1971), dog sitter and camp manager on this expedition.
