The Murphy Rocks are two round, dark gray cliffs with a diameter of about 200 m, which are located about 3 km off the Ingrid Christensen coast of the East Antarctic Princess Elisabeth Land in the area of the Vestfold Mountains .
Scientists from the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions set up a geodetic survey station here in January 1979. The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia named them in the same year after Brian Murphy, who was involved in surveys of the Vestfold Mountains and around Davis Station from 1978 to 1979 .
