Murray Carleton

Murray Carleton (born April 3, 1885 in St. Louis , Missouri , † May 19, 1959 in Las Vegas , Nevada ) was an American golfer .

biography

Murray Carleton played golf at Glen Echo Country Club .

At the Olympic Games in 1904 in St. Louis , he went to singles , but failed in the qualifying round. His uncle Jesse Carleton , who later became president of the Glen Echo Country Club, also competed in this tournament.

Murray Carleton worked for the family business Carleton Dry Goods and later became chairman of the company. He was also a director of the Louisiana Purchase Exposition Company .

Shortly before his death in 1959, he was accused of falsely billing and defrauding his customers. However, Carleton passed away before the case was due to go to court.
