Jesse Landis Carleton (born August 20, 1862 in Cumberland , Maryland , † December 6, 1921 in St. Louis , Missouri ) was an American golfer .
biography
Jesse Carleton played golf at Glen Echo Country Club and later became president of the club.
At the Olympic Games in 1904 in St. Louis when were the team event only two teams reported. Without further ado, ten players joined together and started as the United States Golf Association . This team, which also included Carleton, won the bronze medal. In the individual, however, contrary to expectations, he was eliminated in the first round against Daniel Sawyer . His nephew Murray Carleton also took part in this tournament.
