The team competition in golf in the Olympics in 1904 in St. Louis was held on 17 September.
Originally six teams had registered for the team competition, but only the representatives of the Trans Mississippi Golf Association and the Western Golf Association appeared . Therefore, the individual players who happened to be present formed a third team that competed for the national association United States Golf Association . The teams consisted of ten players each. They each had to complete two rounds or 36 holes in stroke play.
