William Arthur "Art" Stickney (born May 25, 1879 in St. Louis , Missouri ; † September 12, 1944 there ) was an American golfer .
Life and career
William Stickney played golf at the St. Louis Country Club . At the 1904 Olympic Games in St. Louis , he was able to win the silver medal in a team competition with the Trans Mississippi Golf Association , to which his brother Stuart belonged . In the individual, however, he was eliminated in the second round. In 1902 and 1907 he took part in the US Amateurs , but retired both times in the first round.
The two brothers worked together as stockbrokers in St. Louis .
