Harold Weber (born March 20, 1882 in Toledo , Ohio , † November 7, 1933 in Littleton , New Hampshire ) was an American golfer .

biography

Harold Weber, who was a member of the Inverness Club in Toledo , was probably the greatest amateur golfer in Ohio at the beginning of the 20th century . His career at the highest level lasted almost 25 years. He had his first appearance with the US Amateur in 1902. He played with the National Amateur almost every year . In 1914 he only took part in the British Amateur Championship and reached the fourth round. Weber was the Ohio amateur champion four times (1907, 1912, 1920 and 1921).

At the Olympic Games in 1904 in St. Louis when were the team event only two teams reported. Without further ado, ten players joined together and started as the United States Golf Association . This team, which Weber also belonged to, won the bronze medal. In the singles, however, he was eliminated in the first round against Burt McKinnie .
