Musée des arts et métiers
The Musée des arts et métiers is a museum in Paris ( 3rd arrondissement ) that houses the collection of the Conservatoire national des arts et métiers (art and trade school) founded in 1794 . Among other things, it occupies the church and refectory of the former St-Martin-des-Champs abbey . The museum is part of the Conservatoire national des arts et métiers (CNAM).
There are many scientific instruments and inventions in the collection, such as B. the original of Foucault's pendulum or the Fardier by Nicholas Cugnot . 80,000 exhibits are exhibited over 6,000 square meters.
