Schill limestone
As Schillkalk (Muschelbrekzie, Lumachelle, Schalentrümmerkalk, limestone) is a limestone Denoted almost entirely of fossils of dead animals (clams, snails or their fragments) consists. It is sedimentary rock consisting of calcium carbonate CaCO 3 , clay and iron oxides . These rocks are lime-bound and they either have open spaces or these are filled with lime sludge and solidified. The color is mostly beige to red-brown.
Deposits of animal skeletons made of lime, which arise primarily on the coasts of the sea, are called shill.
