The muscle depressor supercilii ("pulling down the eyebrow") is a skin muscle in the area of the eyebrow ( supercilium ) and belongs to the mimic muscles . Some authors do not regard it as an independent muscle, but as part of the orbicularis oculi muscle . The muscle arises at the edge of the eye socket near the lacrimal bone and radiates into the forehead skin below the corrugator supercilii muscle . The muscle pulls the eyebrow down.
