The extensor carpi radialis brevis muscle ( lat. For "short spokes-sided hand extensor" or "short radial hand extensor") is one of the muscles of the forearm located on the spoke ( radius ) . It is superimposed by the extensor carpi radialis longus muscle . The insertion tendon, together with the insertion tendon of the extensor carpi radialis longus muscle, pulls through the second tendon sheath of the extensor retinaculum and bulges the skin when the fist is closed.

Most quadrupedal mammals do not have this muscle.

function

The extensor carpi radialis brevis muscle stretches the hand in the wrist , just like the extensor carpi radialis longus muscle . He also takes part in the abduction (bending the hand towards the thumb).
