Bratislava City Museum
The Bratislava City Museum ( Múzeum mesta Bratislavy , MMB in Slovak ) is a museum in Bratislava . It was founded in 1868 and is the oldest surviving museum in Slovakia . The museum documents the history of the capital from prehistoric times to the 20th century. The main exhibition is in the Old Town Hall , on the main square ( Hlavné námestie ) in the old town .
The museum has permanent exhibitions at eight different locations:
- City history museum (in the old town hall )
- Weapons Museum (in the tower of the Michaelertor )
- Clock Museum (in the House of the Good Shepherd )
- Museum Johann Nepomuk Hummel
- Arthur Fleischmann Museum
- Janko Jesenský Museum
- Devín Castle Open Air Museum
- Gerulata Museum in Rusovce
