The Museum of Performing Arts Semei ( Russian Музей изобразительных искусств имени ) is one of the largest art museums in Kazakhstan . It was founded in Semei in 1985 and bears the name of the Newsorowych family .

The museum is home to a large art collection with more than 3500 exhibits from the art of pre-revolutionary Russia from the 18th century to the 20th century, from Western European painting and the art of Kazakhstan. Some works of art from countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States are also on display.

In October 1988, the collection of the Art Museum was enlarged by the transfer of more than 500 works of art from the private collection of the family of the Moscow art collector Yuliy Newsorov . These included works from the 17th to the 20th century.

Works by Karl Pawlowitsch Brjullow , Iwan Iwanowitsch Schischkin , Fyodor Alexandrowitsch Wassiljew , Wladimir Jegorowitsch Makowski and Konstantin Alexejewitsch Korowin are also on display.
