The Museum of Thuringian Folklore Erfurt is one of the largest folklore museums in Germany. It is housed in the buildings of the former Great Hospital on Juri-Gagarin-Ring in Erfurt .

Permanent exhibitions

The permanent exhibition in the main building shows objects from everyday rural culture of the 19th century on several floors, workshop facilities to depict rural working life ( basket makers , glassblowers , toy makers , blue dyers , mask makers ) as well as Thuringian costumes and painted furniture. There are also special exhibitions on other everyday and cultural-historical topics.

Viewing Depots

In display storerooms in "Benary memory" of the Sparkasse center ceramics, textiles and the South Seas collection of be Wilhelm Knappe shown.
