The Sparkassen-Finanzzentrum Erfurt is an office and administration ensemble consisting of several buildings with additional facilities in the Thuringian state capital. It is located in the Brühl district of the Brühlervorstadt district and is bordered to the east by Melanchthonstrasse, to the north by Gorki and to the south by Bonifaciusstrasse. The complex is located 220 meters south of the new theater building , 110 meters south-west of the Brühler Garten , around 190 meters west of the Alte Oper and is connected to the local public transport network via tram lines 2 and 4 with their joint Sparkassen-Finanzzentrum / Benaryspeicher stop on Brühler Strasse involved. The underground car park Sparkassen-Finanzzentrum , which can be accessed via Bonifaciusstrasse, is open to private traffic.

Between 1992 and 1997, the center was built according to plans by Rüdiger Weingart and the architecture firm Schweger + Partner on a plot of land measuring 18,994 m² - the site of the former Benary seed nursery . The construction costs amounted to 70,000,000 euros . The historically valuable brick buildings on the property were integrated into the design considerations while maintaining their solitary character. It is the Benary-Speicher, built in 1887, which has housed the printing museum and the viewing depot since 2001 , as well as the former administration building of the breeding business from 1890. The architects' design was based on the principle of an open building structure, analogous to the characteristic townhouses from the Wilhelminian era . This typology corresponds to the topic “Houses in the inner-city park”, whereby the proportions of the surroundings are recorded and projected onto the area to be built on. At the same time, the Sparkasse financial center is also designed as a “city within the city”. It has a total of 33,978 m² above ground and an additional 15,020 m² of usable gross floor space below ground .

The three builders were Landesbank Hessen-Thüringen , the Sparkassen- und Giroverband Hessen-Thüringen and SV SparkassenVersicherung . Furthermore, the Thüringer Aufbaubank , the Landesbausparkasse , the LBS Immobilien and a branch of the Sparkasse Mittelthüringen are located in the buildings today . For course participants of the affiliated Sparkassen-Akademie Hessen-Thüringen there are classrooms, offices and a boarding house (which can also be used by other employees of the group). A five-storey glass rotunda acts as the central building of the ensemble. It houses the conference center of the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe and also common facilities such as a casino, a cafeteria, the kitchen as well as conference and guest dining rooms.
