Georgi Todorov Kalojantschew (also Georgi Todorov Kaloyanchev written Bulgarian Георги Тодоров Калоянчев13. January 1925 in Burgas , Bulgaria ; † 18th December 2012 in Sofia ) was a Bulgarian actor .

Life

Kaloyantschew studied acting at the National Academy of Theater and Film Arts "Krastjo Sarafow" in Sofia and finished his studies in 1952. He then became a member of the National Theater and later came to the State Theater of Satire. Kalojantschew made his screen debut in 1951 in the film Утро над родината / Utro nad Rodinata (t: Tomorrow over the home ) by Anton Marinowitsch and Stefan Sartschadschiew . His breakthrough came the following year in the film Masters in All Subjects . For his leading role in the detective film Search by Night , Kaloyantschew was awarded the Actor Award of the 4th Bulgarian Film Festival. He starred in over 60 feature films .

Kaloyantschew received numerous prizes in the course of his career, including the Dimitrov Prize in 1959 , the title of Honored Artist of the People's Republic of Bulgaria in 1962 and the title of People's Artist of the People's Republic of Bulgaria in 1967 . In 2007 he was voted one of the 100 greatest Bulgarians in history by Welikite Balgari .

In 2003 his autobiography Жив съм, ваш съм! Was published.
