The Museum of Digital Art ( acronym : MuDA ) is a museum for digital art in Zurich that opened in 2016 . The museum is located there on the ground floor of the Migros Herdern high-rise .

history

The museum was founded and curated by Christian Etter, who brought Caroline Hirt (* 1977) on board for the conception and implementation. Before founding the museum, Etter worked part-time for ten years as a consultant for IT companies and also supervised free projects such as the Swiss Game Awards. In 2018, Digitalswitzerland selected them as one of the 100 most important Swiss people for digitization .

The museum is supported by the Digital Arts Association from Zurich. In 2015, the founders launched a successful crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter.com for the renovation of the museum space, which raised more than 110,000 USD.
