The museum farm Wennerstorf is located in the northern heath village Wennerstorf in the joint municipality of Hollenstedt in the Harburg district . The museum farm is a branch of the Open Air Museum at Kiekeberg and the development association operates the museum.

The farm is one of the oldest farms in the district - parts of the main house were built in the mid-16th century. Since 1997 the “Smedshoff” has been a museum. The museum farm shows life on the farm in the 1930s. The spacious farmhouse in the form of a hall house combines cow and horse stables, threshing floor and apartment of the farmer's family as well as the maids and servants under one roof. All work that was traditionally part of agriculture in the past is presented on the museum farm. At the same time, the farm is geared towards ecological agriculture . Horticulture and field work are carried out here according to Bioland guidelines. Every year the highlights are the traditional markets on the farm - from the Whitsun market to Apple Day.

The museum farm Wennerstorf shows how a farming family lived around 1930. An extensive exhibition shows the eventful history of this farm: furnished living rooms, various agricultural implements and breeds of domestic animals that were kept in the 1930s live on the farm.

Farm café and farm shop

The museum's own farm café is open from May to October and is furnished in the style of the 1930s, as is the attached farm shop. The attraction of the store is its historical interior. The products of the museum farm such as apple juice, home-made fruit spreads and syrups or specialties such as quince bread, but also nostalgic toys and decorative items are sold.

The museum farm attaches great importance to ecological management. All products are grown exclusively according to Bioland guidelines and the animals grow up in line with organic farming. The museum farm is a recognized organic farm. Old and endangered breeds of domestic animals live here, including Ramelsloh chickens and Bentheim sheep .
