The Musikantendampfer is an entertainment show on German television.

history

After the ARD took the musicians' barn out of its program after the re-establishment of rbb television in 2003 , Das Erste developed a new entertainment format for this subsidiary station . Initially, Petra Kusch-Lück was supposed to be the presenter, but when she canceled - the pop singer Patrick Lindner took over the presentation in August 2003 . Since 2004 Maxi Arland has been the “captain” of the musician steamer. In his first ARD broadcast he already had Thomas Gottschalk as a public service competitor on Saturday evening. The program has now become an integral part of the ARD entertainment program with a constant audience rating of up to 5 million viewers.

The basic structure of the show includes a historic steamer with which the presenter explores different regions of Germany and Austria on the water. During the itinerary, stops are made at concise locations to receive musical guests.

Every summer, Das Erste broadcasts an edition of the musician steamer in the Saturday evening program. The third programs ( NDR , rbb-Fernsehen, HR-Fernsehen and MDR ) then repeat the issues at a later point in time. In the spring of 2007, the musician steamer went on a tour of Germany for the first time, which was held again in 2009 and 2010 with changing interpreters of folk music and hits under the moderation of Arlands. On Saturday, August 27, 2011, a new musician steamer ran for the last time on ARD; this was repeated on Monday, August 29, 2011. After that there were only repetitions in various third programs.
