Musu Kebba Drammeh

Musu Kebba Drammeh (also: Musukebba Drammeh; born around 1940 ; died on March 10, 2003 in Kololi ) was a Gambian fashion designer and entrepreneur.

Life

Drammeh presented decades batik clothes after Tie-Dye method ago and sold them in their batik factory in Dippa Kunda near the Mosque Road . The clothes and their shop were particularly popular with tourists. Her business was mentioned in a travel guide for Gambia as early as 1967. Through her successful business activity, she is believed to have been the first Gambian millionaire.

Until June 2001, Drammeh was a supporter of the opposition party UDP , but after that time she supported the Gambian President Yahya Jammeh and his APRC .

After a brief illness, she died on March 10, 2003 in the Kololi clinic at the age of 63. She had two sons and two daughters. After her death, one of her daughters continued to run her business.

In Serekunda , after her death, a street near the market square was named after her Musu Kebbah Drammeh Street .
