Muteba Kidiaba (born February 1, 1976 in Kipushi , Zaire ) is a Congolese football goalkeeper who has been playing for the Congolese club Tout Puissant Mazembe since 2002 .

Career

Kidiaba comes from the city of Kipushi in the south of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Since 2002 he has been a goalkeeper for Tout Puissant Mazembe from Lubumbashi . The city is about 30 kilometers from his native city. With TP Mazembe he won the national championship in 2006, 2008 and 2009 and the CAF Champions League in 2009 and 2010 .

As the winner of the CAF Champions League 2009 , TP Mazembe qualified for the FIFA Club World Cup. After a 2-1 defeat in the quarter-finals to Pohang Steelers , TP Mazembe played in the 5th place match against Auckland City . In the 24th minute, attacker Daniel Koprivcic ran alone to Kidiaba, who defended the ball outside the penalty area with his hand and was sent off with a red card. Mazembe lost the game 2-3.

For the FIFA Club World Cup 2010 , the club was again qualified. Although Kidiaba had already announced his retirement after the Club World Cup in 2009, he extended his career until the end of 2010. After a victory in the quarter-finals, TP Mazembe competed in the semi-finals against SC Internacional from Brazil. The club won the game 2-0 and became the first African team to reach a final of the Club World Cup. Kidiaba managed not to concede a goal against the favorites and to prepare the goal to make it 2-0. FIFA.com then spoke of Kidiaba's “outstanding performance” and gave him “most of the victory”.
