Myoreflex Therapy

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Myoreflex Therapy is an alternative medical treatment against functional disorders of the musculoskeletal system , in which certain pressure points are massaged in order to relieve tension. It is supposed to help against various stress-related muscle and joint pains, e.g. B. shoulder-arm syndrome , back pain , functional knee problems and the like. Some competitive athletes can be treated with Myoreflex Therapy.

The inventors are the Heilpraktiker Kurt Mosetter (born 1964) and his brother Reiner from Constance . The Mosetters run several practices in Constance and other cities. They train therapists in seminars according to their method and certify them; the website names around 300 users across Germany. According to his own statements, Kurt Mosetter developed his method while studying medicine with the help of teachers of biocybernetics and atlas therapy . The meridian theory of Chinese medicine, Ayurveda , osteopathy and Feldenkrais would have influenced him. Reiner Mosetter has no medical training.

Triggered by the collaboration with Jürgen Klinsmann , the media reported on Kurt Mosetter and the Myoreflex therapy. The success reports are based on individual cases. Medical studies have not yet existed, and the Mosetter brothers themselves have only published non-fiction books for lay people. A psychological dissertation from 2005 describes the use of the method against depth psychological trauma and compares its effect with that of dialectic therapy .
