The Närpiönjoki ( Swedish Närpes å ) is a river in the western Finnish landscapes of southern Ostrobothnia and Ostrobothnia .

The river has its origin in the Kivi and Levalammen reservoirs . From there it flows first south, then west and then south again. It passes the town of Pörtom ( Finnish : Pirttikylä ) and the small town of Närpes ( Finnish: Närpiö ), before flowing into the Knäpfjärden , an inner bay of the Österfjärden , and the Gulf of Bothnia after about 75 km north of Kristinestad . The catchment area covers 991.9 km².
