Nöggerath is an impact crater in the south of the front of the moon , southeast of the great whale plain of the Schickard , northeast of Schiller . The moderately eroded crater is deepened in a plateau, the interior of the crater is flat.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the German geologist Johann Jacob Nöggerath .
